Front Sight and Ignatius PiazzaIgnatius Piazza Aims for PerfectionNew York Times covered Dr. Ignatius Piazza's brainchild, Front Sight Firearms Training Institute and showed us just what it is that the former California chiropractor has in mind for his shooting school: a 550-acre residential community, complete with roads, power, sewers, amenities and a world-class, top-notch, unprecedented shooting school. A residential community brought together by America's finest shooting school, a pretty safe combination! The homeowners association meetings would probably get pretty interesting, but truly, the people would be remarkably safe. Who in their right mind would attempt to attack, rob or break & enter a house in such a community? That's what Dr. Ignatius Piazza wants, but not only for the little town of Front Sight. Dr. Piazza wants all Americans trained in safe, effective firearm use. Firearms training, he says, only makes people more safe. In the article in New York Times, Dr. Piazza's philosophy for gun training is explained: the more skills a citizen has with a gun, the less likely he or she will use it unnecessarily. And to those who say that Front Sight is simply a nut house for gun-toting rednecks or crazy anti-governmentalists, Piazza had this to say: "This is not about building a Waco compound for gun nuts," he said, as he pointed out the proposed celebrity training building and jet pad on the scale model. "The people who take our classes are honest, law-abiding citizens. What we're giving them is similar to what you'd find in a high-end golf resort like Pebble Beach." Except, of course, that instead of teaching people how to perfect their swing, Dr. Ignatius Piazza's staff will be instructing students on take-down power of particular bullets and the best way to stop an attacker. For those still skeptical, Dr. Ignatius Piazza encourages everyone to attend any one of Front Sight's gun training programs. He's convinced that at the very least, realizing that one small portion of the "Front Sight Experience" will show a student what Front Sight is all about.
